Its been three days since they have been on hold, shouting to reduce the price of the oil. The price of 1 liter of petrol is now 9.05 rf. According to the survey of transport ministry on last three years of oil prices, on June 2004 the price of a liter was 9.40 rf. Its a 35 laaris increment of the price than that is now. Cabbys didn't protest then, why now? Ministry has been taking some action against the drivers and the centers who haven't started their job by this morning. Ofcourse some have started. They say they don't want to increase the price of their service, but to reduce the price of the fuel. About reducing the price of the fuel, i can't totally agree with the cabbys. Their are several reasons. As far as i know the profit STO takes from each liter is 23 laaris. I mean is that much? Compared to the other coutries of the region Maldives has the lowest rates. Decreasing the oil prices wil ofcourse cause a loss to the STO, which certainly means a loss to the whole country's economy. Well i don't know much about economics and commerce, cause i studied science. But even though i understand that much.<br /><br />2 hours earlier some mates and i was on search of a cab. Called almost every center, but they were all engaged. Tried to catch one from the street, none stoped. Almost all the cabs we came across was on their personal jobs. I even took my shoes to my hand to throw on them. kkekkek. Finally we managed to walk the long way ahead.
